Bird Photography at Chintamoni Kar Bird Sanctuary

This trip to Kolkata was not planned. Still, how-so-ever sudden it is, I managed to take out 2 hours for birding on Sunday morning. Chintamoni Kar Bird Sanctuary is located in South Kolkata and I was surprised to see atleast 20 photographers trying their luck in this small park that morning. The entry ticket was Rs. 50 per head with no additional charge for Camera. The park has very dense vegetation and one really has to bump up the ISO to get a decent shot on most occasions. But overall it was wonderful, I added another 3 new species to my list touching the magic number of 333 now.

Fulvous Breasted Woodpecker

Black Hooded Oriole

Lesser Goldenback Woodpecker

Orange Headed Thrush - citrina

Brown Headed Barbet

White Throated Fantail

Jungle Babbler

Oriental Magpie Robin

Black Drongo - imm

House Crow

Common Tailorbird
